Expect live music from the fantastic Freedom Fields Ceilidh Band, all the moves called out and taught on the night, and a room full of people having a properly good time. No experience needed and no partner required, we’ll walk you through every dance before the band strikes up.
Doors open at 8pm, dancing kicks off at 8:30pm and runs through to 11pm. There’s a licensed bar on the night so come thirsty as well as ready to dance.
Whether you’re a ceilidh veteran or this is your first time swinging a stranger round a church hall, you’ll fit right in. Fancy dress always welcome if the theme takes your fancy!

What actually is a ceilidh?
A ceilidh is a traditional folk dance night with live music and a caller guiding you through each dance step by step. Think fast footwork, spinning your neighbour, and a lot of laughing when it goes wrong. Everyone dances together, it’s social, silly and a brilliant night out.
Do I need to come with a partner?
Not at all. Most people come solo, with mates, or in a group, and you’ll be swapping partners throughout the night anyway. It’s one of the friendliest ways to meet people in the room.
Can I come alone?
Absolutely, plenty of people do. You’ll be dancing with different people all night so you’re never stuck standing on the sidelines.
Do I need any experience?
None at all. Every dance is called and taught from scratch before the music starts, so you’ll know exactly what you’re doing. If you can walk in time to music, you can ceilidh.
What should I wear?
Something comfortable you can move in. Flat shoes are your friend, this is not a heels kind of night. Fancy dress is always welcome if there’s a theme.
Is there a bar?
Yes, fully licensed, so come thirsty as well as ready to dance.
